Client News: JN and Alexis Weekend Recap

The clients of Studio Rhoad did some majoring kicking of the ass variety this past weekend in their respective series’. Here’s the weekend recap!

Josef Newgarden

Josef Newgarden and the Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing team went into Round 2 of the IndyCar season with high hopes.  After finishing up the season opener in St Petersburg in the 23rd position after having clutch issues the team needed a good finish. JN really loves the track at Barber and who wouldn’t! The track is gorgeous and after the “shaving” the track in the off season it had picked up tons of grip. After practice and qualifying not going as well as planned Josef was still very optimistic. He tweeted after qualifying “let me tell you about that race tomorrrow. Ohhh the possibilities! #dontstopwontstop.” Starting the race in the rear JN had a lot of work to do. When it was all said and done he climbed 13 spots to land his first career top 10! Kudos to him and his crew on a stellar run and finish! They take on the Streets of Long Beach for their next round, April 19-21.

Alexis DeJoria

Alexis DeJoria and crew headed to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals. After picking up some of the very prized bonus points in qualifying Alexis and team Patron headed into Round 1 against John Force on their march to the finals. After beating Force with a 4.181 and a  o.1o RT it was on to the Semis to take on Cruz Pedregon. If Alexis could beat Pedregon it would put her in the finals against Courtney Force a matchup that  fans, media and other drivers alike have been patiently waiting for. Sadly Alexis’ run went south early and she lost out to Pedregon. It still was a great weekend for her and her hardworking crew. Charlotte is next on their calendar starting on April 19th at Z-Max for 4-Wide Nationals.
