StudioRhoad.com got hacked and I didn’t even know it.

Written by Studio Rhoad on August 4th, 2008

My buddy, Collin, brought it to my attention last night that there was something weird about the StudioRhoad.com “Coming Soon” page. He said that Google saw my site as an “attack site”. In complete denial, I checked it out for myself and wouldn’t you know…. (see pic below)

I couldn’t believe it (still in denial I guess). Its one of those situtations where it always happens to someone else, but never you. Well, upon further investigation of the source code, I found the following hidden iFrame which contained a link to the malicious code (see pic below).

I followed the link from the hidden iFrame on a backup computer to find nothing but a blank page. Go figure.

Long story short…. it turns out that a group of Russian hackers gave the lovely little Trojan that was ultimatly embedded into the site which would also explain all the Russian spam Ive been receiving lately. Inlight of all that, I would like to apologize to those who may have contracted a Trojan/Virus through the Studio Rhoad “Coming Soon” page.  I contracted the same Trojan but have since removed all the malicious code from the site and better secured it from future hacks.

To the Russian hackers:
